Louis Stiens was born and raised in Munich, Germany. In 1997 he started his ballet trainig at the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung in his hometown. In 2009 he came to Stuttgart to continue his trainig at the John Cranko Schule. He graduated in 2011.
In the season 2011/12 he joined the Stuttgart Ballet as an apprentice, the following season he was taken into the Corps de ballet.
He danced his first solo role with the Stuttgart Ballet already during his time as apprentice: in John Cranko’s The Lady and the Fool he performed Bootface.
Louis Stiens is also a young choreographer and created several own works until now. The Pas de deux Ohne Titel was choreographed in the context of a workshop at the Heinz-Bosl Stiftung in 2009. He created Mäuse (2010) and Still Light (2011) for Robert Robinson, also student at the John Cranko Schule. Jesus Home, the second choreography for the „Young Choreographers“ of the Noverre-Society has been danced by five dancers. One year later Christoph followed, his third choreography for the Noverre Society. For Mäuse the young choreographer won the First Prize at the beo-Competition for Vocational Schools in 2011. On the occasion of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix Louis Stiens’ choreography Sit back premiered in the Schleyerhalle. In November 2012 the choreography for Dancer in the Dark (Co-Production Schauspiel Stuttgart/ Stuttgart Ballet) permiered which Louis Stiens and Marco Goecke created.
