Ami Morita was born in Nagano, Japan. She received her first ballet lessons at a private ballet school in her home town. In 2005 she came to Stuttgart to attend the John Cranko Schule where she graduated in 2009.
In the 2009/10 season Ami Morita joined the Stuttgart Ballet as an apprentice, in 2010/11 she was taken into the Corps de ballet.
