The home/away game: Stuttgart Ballet in the Theaterhaus
To close it's Anniversary season 2010/11, the Stuttgart Ballet presents a new mixed bill which strongly accentuates the company's commitment to contemporary dance.
In the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, the company will show not only modern works by Hans van Manen, Marco Goecke and Demis Volpi, but also two world premieres by Stuttgart Ballet's Principals Bridget Breiner and Douglas Lee, both of whom will be leaving the company at the end of this season.
Two more prime examples of the Stuttgart choreographic "talent factory" can be experienced in the course of this mixed bill: Young choreographer Demis Volpi will – for the first time in Germany – show his newest piece Little Monsters, which was awarded the Erik Bruhn Prize for the best new choreography in March 2011 in Canada. Also the Solo Mopey by Resident Choreographer Marco Goecke, who became famous for his extraordinary contemporary works, as well as Two pieces for Het by Hans van Manen will be shown, the latter by a well established master of choreography, but not at all less modern.
