Alexander Zaitsev, born in Moscow, Russia, was trained at the Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow. In 1992, he graduated and had his first engagement with the Bolshoi Ballet under Juri Grigorovich. Furthermore he joined the company on tours all around the world.
In 1995 he danced with the State Opera Dresden for one season. In the following year he joined the Stuttgart Ballet’s Corps de ballet. In 1997 Alexander Zaitsev also received his Pedagogical Diploma of the Moscow Choreography Academy. In January 1999 he was promoted to Soloist with the Stuttgart Ballet, at the beginning of the season 2006/07 to Principal Dancer.
For the Noverre Society’s Young Choreographers in 2003 Alexander Zaitsev created the Solo La Chanson which he dansed himself.
With the Stuttgart Ballet Alexander Zaitsev has danced on tours all around the world. He also receives numerous invitiations to international galas and guest performances. Alexander Zaitsev guested amongst others at the Royal Ballet, Covent Garden, at Márcia Haydées Ballet de Santiago and at the Leipzig Ballett.
