Özkan Ayik was born in Seydisehir, Turkey, and grew up in Istanbul. He attended the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts from 1999 until 2006. In 2006 he continued his ballet education at the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart where he graduated in 2008.
In the season 2008/09 he joined the Stuttgart Ballet as an apprentice. One year later Özkan Ayik was taken into the Corps de ballet.
In January 2013 he presented his first own choreography at the Noverre-Society’s “Young Choreographers”: down down.
