Social Distance Stacks

Florian Mehnert in Collaboration with the Stuttgart Ballet
The Stuttgart Ballet has collaborated with German photo artist Florian Mehnert for his project “Social Distance Stacks”.

Artistic Director Tamas Detrich, inspired by Florian Mehnert's concept, suggested placing three couples from famous ballets in the large plastic bubbles, reflecting the fact that the company hasn't been able to perform such full length ballets for over a year.

In vain do Siegfried and Odette, Romeo and Juliet and Giselle and Albrecht yearn for each other: they are separated by the same social distance rules which has kept people across the globe apart for the last 12 months.
