All personal data collected on Staatstheater Stuttgart websites is saved and processed by us exclusively for handling ticket sales, for sending publications or for submitting service offers, such as the newsletter. As an institution of the state of Baden-Württemberg, we assure you that your personal data will be treated as confidential according to applicable data protection law and not disclosed to any third party for advertising purposes. External service providers receiving customer data on our behalf, for example to send information or publications, are strongly bound by contract, as defined by the State Data Protection Act [Landesdatenschutzgesetz], and are not considered third parties by data protection law.

Your ordering information will be used and saved in accordance with data protection law to the extent necessary for the execution and documentation of your orders. With your account number, we also save your name and address, and where applicable your telephone number, your email address as well as your bank or credit card account information; however the credit card numbers don’t include the so-called card verification code (CVC).
For security reasons, your ordering information is encrypted when it is transmitted to us. You can recognize this by the fact that your browser’s address line beings with “https:” and from the closed lock symbol. Our security certificate is automatically recognized by your browser.
In order to recognize statistics regarding the frequency of visits to our homepage, our provider, GlobalWays, saves the following data sets from out Internet visitors and deletes them after no more than one year:
- URL and port
- IP address (shortened to the last byte)
- Date and time
- Data that is loaded
- The referrer: i.e. the page that connects to us
- The software version the browser connects with
By shortening the IP address, we allow you – as much as possible – anonymous use of our websites. User profiles based on IP addresses are therefore excluded. The unique entries in the log files do not allow any determination of an individual’s identity.
In order to continue optimizing our web presence, we would like to use a web analysis tool in the future. We are currently in the testing phase with software by the company wiredMinds.
In this process, data is collected, processed and saved, and then used to construct a user profile under a pseudonym. Of course, no personal data of the user is collected (according to the ruling of the top regulating authority for data protection on 27, November 2009). IP addresses are made anonymous immediately following their collection by deletion of the last block of numbers, so that no personal references are possible here either.
In addition, cookies may be used for the analysis. Cookies are small text files saved in a visitor’s Internet browser which aid in the recognition of the browser. In this process, however, a pseudonym is exclusively used that doesn’t allow for any reference to your IP address. In case you do not wish to allow cookies to be saved beyond your visit, then you can select the appropriate setting in your Internet browser.
In no case will the data be used for personal identification of a visitor (to the extent that this would even be technically possible) or associated with the data regarding the user of a pseudonym. If you still don’t consent to the data acquisition, then click on the following link to always object to the use of your visit data and to completely prohibit tracking.
Exert your right of objection
When visiting the sites of the Staatstheater [Theatres], a session cookie is activated that retains the identity of the browser sessions on your computer and that is deleted by your computer again following the end of the browser session. This information is no longer available in future browser sessions. Reference to the identity of the user is excluded.
In order to use the virtual shopping cart in our sales module, a cookie that tracks your individual orders must be activated during the ordering transaction. This cookie is deleted again following 30 min. or at the end of your order. However you can also change the settings on your browser so that cookies are generally not allowed.
The newsletters of our divisions will only be sent to you if you have ordered them through the “Service” link on our homepage. And your email address will only be used for this purpose. Because the transmission is carried out unencrypted, you also have the option when ordering the newsletter to provide an address, which doesn’t allow for determination of your identity. You can always cancel your newsletter subscription again with the same link. Your email information is then automatically removed from the mailing list.
We have commissioned kurturkurier, a project of Data Kulturlink AG, with sending the newsletters. The email addresses remain the property of the Staatstheater [Theatres], are used exclusively for this purpose and are not disclosed to any third party.
