In May 2020, Artistic Director Tamas Detrich commissioned three new works from dancer-choreographers within the company which premiered – miraculously, given the situation – in July 2020. All three, Louis Stiens, Fabio Adorisio and Roman Novitzky, created strong personal statements about their own – and our – world today. Humor, pathos, sarcasm, desperation, passion, tenderness but above all humanity are the cornerstones of their pieces. Paired with classics and beloved works from the repertory, RESPONSE I is a flexible program which can allow for all contingencies by “responding” as the situation demands. No matter what the final line-up, the evening always lives up to its subtitle: Something old, something new, something classic, something blue.

Projected performances: March - April 2021, Opera House.
