Douglas Lee's Naiad

video on demand

June 18th, 18:00 h (CET) to June 21st, 22:00 h (CET)
From June 18th to June 21st StuttgartBallet@Home will continue with a brand new work by former Principal Dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet and free-lance choreographer Douglas Lee as video on demand. Premiered in February 2020, Lee’s Naiad takes the audience on a fascinating journey to the depths of the ocean. Fragments of Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s poem The Kraken, a mysterious Naiad and a swarm of undulating dancers evoke the depths of an element which has long captivated the human imagination. Set to Joby Talbot’s Algal Bloom and Nicolas Sávva’s Corallina (a commissioned work), Lee’s ballet will be available on the Stuttgart Ballet’s website and YouTube channel.
