A tribute to Hölderlin
Friedrich Hölderlin – one of Germany’s greatest and most mythical poets – will be celebrated in Stuttgart in a collaboration between the Stuttgart Ballet, the Schauspiel Stuttgart, the State Theater Stuttgart Orchestra, the German Literary Archive Marbach and the House of Literature Stuttgart. This one-night-only performance on November 7th, 2020, will open with a new choreography by Stuttgart Ballet dancer-choreographer Alessandro Giaquinto. Inspired by Hölderlin’s letters and poetry and set to music by Luigi Nono and Robert Schumann as well as fragments of Hölderlin’s texts, Giaquinto’s world premiere will share the stage with young authors, actors and musicians in this tribute to the great 18th century poet.
