Press quotes about the new Repertory Evening Masterpieces
“The revivals of three often shown modern classics were not only danced flawlessly, but also entirely in the spirit of their choreographers, by a company dancing at world-class level. […] the Stuttgart company gives an interpretation which could not be imagined more perfect: exact and incisive, in crystal clear lines and yet easy and effortless. The plasticity of the bodies shines clearly in space.”
Angela Reinhardt, Esslinger Zeitung
„The mood changes between joviality, reverie and melancholy – supported by the characteristic style of Chopin’s piano music, interpreted brilliantly by Glenn Price.”
“Alexander Zaitsev in the role of the sacrificial boy, the solo couple danced by Anna Osadcenko and Jason Reilly as well as 22 dancers give everything – up until the ecstatic finale of this vibrant ritual about the coming and passing of life.”
Claudia Gass, Stuttgarter Zeitung
“The Stuttgart Ballet draws from plentiful resources: three key works of dance are presented under the title ‘Masterpieces’. A triumph.”
“Everything is danced perfectly, from apparently relaxed paces to long distance ‘lady throwing’. This is elegant, brilliant, at times fast-paced.”
“Exactly one hundred years ago Stravinsky’s ‘Sacre’ disturbed the audience practically out of the blue. Even today, at least in its Stuttgart version, this is still possible.“
