All information about the project
Dear choreographers,

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Young Choreographers evening. We would like to give some information about the conditions of this special project in order to have a good base and space for your creativity and our organisation. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or proposals!
Length of the piece
The choreography should not be longer than 12 minutes. Please give us as soon as possible the music title, composer, interpreters and if possible the recording details. If you are using any literature or other type of text we need the source as well.
Dancers
You are very welcome to work with the dancers of the Stuttgart Ballet! We do believe that it’s a fertile and inspiring challenge for both sides. Please be aware that as a guest you will have to respect the company’s schedule and performing times. If it’s more convenient for you to use your own colleagues or other dancers, please inform us as soon as possible. Depending on the number of dancers, the travelling and hotel costs we decide if it’s possible for us to cope with the extra costs.
Rehearsal time and place
All the Noverre rehearsals have to take place during the company’s free time. That means mostly between 14:00 h and 15:00 h (lunch break) or after 18:30 h (if there is no performance) or in the free days. Every week we will be hang up a list for the three studios in which each choreographer writes down his rehearsal time for the whole week. We ask you to respect your colleagues especially when dancers are chosen for more than one piece! Everybody should find enough time and space for their creativity.
    Costumes and props
The wardrobe department of our theatre has a large selection of many kinds of costumes. Please, use this opportunity! I can arrange appointments with the wardrobe stuff and they will try their best to fulfil your wishes and ideas. We would like to prevent costs incurred by using costumes from outside. In exceptional cases we will have to negotiate.
      Technique and performances
We usually have the stage two to three days earlier so everybody gets the chance to set lights, arrange music etc. as well as placing the dancers and make a run through of the piece.
This for now is the most important data. Details will surely come up during the working process, but we will keep in touch regularly. You will find our contact details below. Information about the society’s history and work can be found here.

We look forward to a positive cooperation and wish you a lot joy in this creative process!

        Sonia Santiago
