Stuttgart's outdoor summer highlight was sorely missed in the last two years. Since 2007, Ballet in the Park has attracted thousands of viewers every summer to free public viewing of performances by the Stuttgart Ballet and the John Cranko School on Europe’s largest portable video-screen. On July 16, 2022, Kenneth MacMillan's historical drama Mayerling will be broadcast live from the opera house stage onto the big screen placed in the park in which the opera house is situated. On the following Sunday morning the assembled talents of the John Cranko School will present a diverse program perfect for a younger audience. The students show both classical and modern works and infect young and old alike with their joy of dance via the screen.
