A tribute to Hölderlin

A cooperation by State Opera Stuttgart, the Stuttgart Ballet, Schauspiel Stuttgart and the German Literary Archive Marbach as well as the House of Literature Stuttgart
Friedrich Hölderlin – one of Germany’s greatest and most mythical poets – will be celebrated in Stuttgart in a collaboration between the Stuttgart Ballet, the Staatsoper Stuttgart, the Schauspiel Stuttgart, the German Literary Archive Marbach and the House of Literature Stuttgart. This one-night-only performance will open with a new choreography by Stuttgart Ballet dancer Alessandro Giaquinto. Inspired by Hölderlin’s letters and poetry and set to music by, among others, Robert Schumann as well as fragments of Hölderlin’s texts, Giaquinto’s world premiere will share the stage with young authors, actors, singers and musicians in this tribute to the great 18th century poet.

Projected performance: April 2021, Play House.
