Anya Donaghy grew up in California (USA). At the age of 7 years, she started dancing at the Shirley Winters Ballet School in Fresno. At the age of 12, she went to the California Arts Academy in Fresno for two years before she continued her ballet training at the Elite Classical Coaching in Frisco, Texas in 2021. She participated in the Youth America Grand Prix several times, in 2022 she won the the 1st place in the category Junior Classical at the finals in Dallas.

In 2023 she moved to Stuttgart to continue her training at the John Cranko School, from which she graduated in summer 2025. During this time she won the 1st place in the category Senior Classical at the YAGP, participated in the Prix de Lausanne and the USA International Ballet Competition.

In the 2025/2026 season Anya Donaghy is an apprentice with the Stuttgart Ballet.
