On the first performance day of the 2023/24 season, ballet director Tamas Detrich introduces the new season - and looks back on the first five years of his directorship. Also on stage: dancers of the Stuttgart Ballet, who also talk about their experiences of the last five years - and what they are looking forward to in the new season.

2018 to 2023. What hasn't happened in these five years: a brilliant opening, a pandemic that led to a lockdown, training at home, dancing for the camera or livestreams, the arduous steps back onto the stage and the delightful return of the famous Stuttgart Ballet audience. During this time, the Stuttgart Ballet nonetheless manages to stage thirty world premieres.
