Vita
Martí Paixà was born in Reus, Catalonia, Spain and grew up in Montbrió del Camp. From 2008 to 2011 he attended a private ballet school in his hometown, before he came to the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart from which he graduated in 2014.
In the season 2014/15 he became an apprentice with the Stuttgart Ballet, one season later he was taken into the Corps de ballet. In 2016 he was promoted to Demi-Soloist; in 2017 to Soloist. He became a Principal Dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet at the beginning of the 2021/22 season.
Martí Paixà’s repertory includes solo roles such as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, the title role in Onegin, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake (all by John Cranko), Prince Desiré in Marcia Haydée’s The Sleeping Beauty, Armand Duval in Lady of the Camellias, Wronsky in Anna Karenina, Allan Gray in A Streetcar named Desire (all by John Neumeier), Basilio in Maximiliano Guerra's Don Quixote, Solor in Kingdom of Shades from La Bayadère (Natalia Makarova after Marius Petipa) and Colas in La fille mal gardée (Frederick Ashton) as well as solo roles in works by Maurice Béjart, Edward Clug, David Dawson, Marco Goecke, Jiří Kylián, Hans van Manen, Kenneth MacMillan and Uwe Scholz.
