Vita

Born in Trnava, Slovakia, Miriam Kacerova received her ballet training from 1993 to 2001 at the Dance Conservatory in Bratislava. Subsequently she went to the Académie de Danse Classique Princess Grace in Monaco, from which she graduated in 2004. In January 2004 she became a Corps de ballet member at the Zurich Ballet where she danced in works by Heinz Spoerli. In 2005 Miriam Kacerova joined the Stuttgart Ballet’s Corps de ballet. In 2010/11 she was promoted to Demi Soloist, at the beginning of 2013 to Soloist and to Principal Dancer with the start of the 2014-2015 season.

Her repertoire includes the title role in Giselle (traditional version), Julia in Romeo and Juliet, Tatiana in Onegin (both John Cranko) and Desdemona in Othello (John Neumeier) as well as Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty (Marcia Haydée) and Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew (John Cranko). In addition, she has danced a wide variety of works by choreographers such as George Balanchine, Frederick Ashton, Hans van Manen, Kenneth MacMillan, William Forsythe, Glen Tetley and Marco Goecke. Choreographers who have created roles especially for her include Mauro Bigonzetti, Jorma Elo, Douglas Lee, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Demis Volpi and Christian Spuck.
